The Story
The age of dragons has passed.
The divided races of humanity, their descendants, are on the brink of war yet again. History threatens to repeat itself in the never-ending struggle for dominion set in motion long ago by the first dragons.
However, for a pirate’s daughter living on the outskirts of the Empire, Nyra Anahera just wants to see her father again.
When his ship returns to their island after years of absence, Nyra is shocked to see it manned by strangers. Seeking an explanation, she uncovers the unusual circumstances behind the ship’s capture and determines he must still be alive. In a burst of recklessness Nyra steals back the Moon Raider and sets out to sea in search of answers. Guided by a journal full of mysterious research notes, she discovers there is much more to her father’s adventures than he let on.
Nyra soon finds herself tangled in the dangerous investigation her father started, and so her quest begins. Meeting unlikely allies, surviving nature, saving kingdoms, Nyra and the Moon Raider crew embark on a journey that would challenge the very history of their world…
Author's Note
I hope you enjoyed reading Dead Dragons Don’t Speak! This is the first official prototype for my passion project I’ve been working on for five years now.
I’m a horrifically ambitious person so it comes as no surprise that I want to make a larger-than-life fantasy epic spanning dozens of graphic novels (and years of my life!). In all honesty, I’ve struggled to write this note because I don’t think I can string together the perfect words to communicate my heart for this story and how determined I am to see it through. However, it’s pretty hard to sell someone on your story with a “Just trust me bro, this one’s special. It’s going to really mean something to people, man.” My only hope is that this comic gives you the tiniest glimpse into my vision and gets you excited for more.
This is just the start of my journey. I still have lots and lots of work to do, but maybe someday you’ll know and love this world as much as I do, we’ll see!
